How to List a Domain for Sale on Sedo

Step 1: Go to Sedo.com

Open your browser and visit https://www.sedo.com

Step 2: Sign Up (or Log In)

If you already have an account, click Login and enter your details.

If you’re new, click Register, fill out your information, and create a free account.

Step 3: Verify Your Email

Sedo will send you a verification email. Open it and click the link to confirm your email address before proceeding.

Step 4: Go to “My Sedo” Dashboard

After logging in, click on ‘SELL DOMAIN’.

Step 5: Click ‘Start selling domains now’

After clicking on ‘SELL DOMAINS’, you will arrive to this page. Click on ‘Start selling domains now’.

Step 6: Enter your domain

You’ll arrive to this page. Enter your domain in the box, then click ‘Go to Step 2’. After clicking, you’ll be prompted if you want to use Sedo’s wizard. For the purpose of this tutorial, decline.

Step 7: Enter details

This is the next page you will see.

A.- Price: Enter the price at which you would like to offer your domain for sale. In this case, we entered 1200.

B.- Currency: select the currency in which the price will be displayed in. In this case, we selected USD.

C.- Price option: For free accounts, you can only select ‘Buy now’. For paid SEDO accounts, you can opt for ‘make an offer’ as well. We recommend to start with the free option.

D.- Min. Offer: This field is not available for free SEDO accounts. Again, we recommend starting with the free account and not setting a min. offer. Once you gain more experience, you can think of upgrading to a paid SEDO account.

E.- Domain/Project: Chose ‘Domain’.

Step 8: Add payment details

Click on the link ‘Please complete your payment details’.

This is so that SEDO can pay you if your domain is sold.

Step 9: Payment details screen

This is the screen you’ll arrive to.

Click on ‘Add’

You’ll see this menu:

You can select Paypal or Bank account.

Once done, click on ‘Add payout method’.

You will then be asked to enter bank or paypal details.

Step 10: Select registrar

Go back to this page (look in your open tabs, it should be there).

You’ll see ‘Registrar’.

Click the dropdown menu and select who you registered the domain with.

In this case, we selected Namecheap.

Then, click on ‘Finish Adding Domains’.

Step 11: Fast-track proof of ownership

After clicking on ‘Finish Adding Domains’, you will arrive to this screen.

At this stage, SEDO wants to verify you are the owner of the domain.

They might approve your domain without any further action from your part.

However, to speed up the process, you can verify the domain manually.

To do so, click on ‘self-verification service’.

You will arrive to this page. Copy your personal ID (yours will be different):

Step 12: Go to Namecheap

As we registered the domain with Namecheap, we will go to our Namecheap members area.

On the main screen, click ‘Domain List’ in the menu on the left-hand side.

You will arrive to a page containing a list of your domains:

On the right side of the domain you’re trying to verify, click ‘MANAGE’.

You will arrive to this page. First, click on ‘Advanced DNS’. Them scroll down a bit and click on ‘ADD NEW RECORD’:

After clicking on ‘ADD NEW RECORD’, you will arrive to this page. Click on ‘A Record’ first. A menu will open.

Scroll the menu and choose ‘TXT Record’ by clicking on it.

Add your ‘Personal ID number’ (the one you copied in step 11 earlier).

Type ‘3600’ in the next field.

Click the green checkmark once done:

And that’s it!

You verified your domain.

It can take a few hours for your domain to appear as ‘VERIFIED’ in your SEDO members area.
