How to Register a Domain Name with GoDaddy

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to register a nested domain on GoDaddy — one of the largest domain registrars in the world.

Step 1: Go to GoDaddy.com

Open your browser and go to https://www.GoDaddy.com

Step 2: Search for Your Domain

On the homepage, you’ll see a search bar that says: “Type the domain you want”

Type the full nested domain name into the bar and click the Search button.

Step 3: Check Availability

If the domain is available, you will see it listed as an Exact Match.

You will also be given the option to choose to register the domain using similar domain names, or even other locales.

We recommend purchasing ONLY the nested domain (no other extensions).

In this example, we checked the availability for kmtw.ca.

Click the ‘Make It Yours’ button.

The button will change to Continue. Click ‘Continue’.

Step 4: View Cart

You will be presented with other options that you can add to your cart. You can skip these and click ‘Continue to Cart’.

Step 5: Confirm Your Order in Your Cart

On this page you can decide how long you want your domain to be registered for, and if you want any additional protections or features.

You can accept these options, or change them as you like.

We recommend not purchasing any add-on.

Click ‘Ready for Checkout’.

Step 6: Log In to Your Existing Account or Create a New Account

If you haven’t already signed in, you will be asked to do so now.

If you don’t have an account yet click one of the following:

>Continue with Facebook

>Continue with Google

>Continue with Email

Fill in the required fields.

Click ‘Create Account’.

You may be asked to verify your account with a verification code.

You can skip this.

Step 7: Billing Information

Fill in your billing information.

Step 8: Review and pay

Enter your payment method. Click ‘Review Order’.

If everything is okay, click ‘Complete Purchase’.

After payment is made, you’ll receive confirmation that your domain was successfully registered.
